Two Bull Sharks Landed in the Brisbane River on a River Pup Rig

Catch Date: 14 August 2026
Location: Brisbane River
Species: Bull Shark
Sharks Landed: 2
Angler: Harrison
Rig: Lets Trot Fishing River Pup Rig
Method: Brisbane River shark fishing
Session: Afternoon into night

Another solid Brisbane River session with two bull sharks landed on the Lets Trot Fishing River Pup rig.

Harrison got into the action during an afternoon-to-night session on the Brisbane River, landing the first bull shark during the afternoon before another one came aboard after dark.

Both sharks were taken using the River Pup, our lighter castable shark rig designed for targeting bull sharks and other river sharks.

The first little bull made for a cracking afternoon catch, while the second shark came after the sun had disappeared and showed exactly why the Brisbane River can keep producing well after dark.

Two bull sharks, one session, same rig.

With the warmer months approaching, we’re expecting the Brisbane River bull shark action to continue building. We’ll keep putting the River Pup rigs in the water and documenting the catches here on the Lets Trot Fishing Shark Report.

Both sharks were handled and released to fight another day.
