The Lets Trot Fishing 1.5m+ Heavy Castable Shark Rig is a compact, heavy-duty stainless steel shark trace built for anglers wanting serious bite protection without the extra length of a full shark rig.
Each rig is hand-built from 2.5mm red coated 7×7 stainless steel trace wire rated to 730lb / 331kg, with Flemish-twist loops, double copper crimps and heat-shrunk connections.
At the connection end we’ve gone deliberately oversized, fitting an 8/0 heavy-duty large-eye swivel rated to a massive 1,500lb / 680kg.
Yes, the swivel is overkill — and that’s intentional. The oversized swivel gives you a heavy-duty connection point while the large reinforced Flemish loop is suitable for anglers running oversized shark clips.
The Flemish shark loop can also accept an oversized shark clip directly, giving you the option to connect straight to the reinforced loop when that’s how you prefer to rig.
