Designed for anglers chasing river sharks with smaller live baits, the River Pup Shark Rig combines a heavy-duty mono top shot with lighter coated stainless bite wire for natural bait presentation without sacrificing strength.
Every River Pup is hand-built in Australia and shark tested using the same components we fish ourselves.

The River Pup isn’t designed to be the heaviest shark rig on the market — it’s designed to be a practical, castable shark rig that still gives you serious strength where it matters.
The 1.5 mm mono top shot provides a thicker, more comfortable leader for hand-leading and controlling sharks beside the boat or on the bank.
The lighter 1.5 mm coated stainless bite wire allows smaller live baits such as mullet and herring to swim naturally without being weighed down by an unnecessarily heavy bite leader.
The reinforced Flemish-twist section adds additional protection in the high-abrasion area where the leader is most likely to come into contact with a shark’s teeth during the fight.
The heavy-duty 4/0 crane swivels provide a strong connection through the main rig, while the 2/0 running swivel gives you the option of running a sinker or breakaway setup for boat, bank or drone fishing.
From smaller river bull sharks through to much heavier fish, the River Pup has been built, tested and refined through real-world shark fishing.
